Bishop Don Daniel Hamilton
Don Hamilton is a Trinidadian, was married to Marilyn Hamilton in 1987 until her passing in August 2016. He has two sons, Ryan and Daniel. Don has been serving as an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies since 1989. Don graduated from the West Indies School of Theology (WIST) in 1986 with the Diploma in Theology, and served thereafter as lecturer with the WIST Extension and Diploma programs between 1990 and 1994. During the period 1992-1994, he also served with the interschool/intervarsity Christian Fellowship (IS/IVCF) Trinidad and Tobago, as the first General Secretary. He acquired his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Jamaica Theological Seminary (High Honors) and the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology in 1996 and 1998, respectively.
While pursuing studies in Jamaica (1994-1998), he also served with Assemblies of God as Associate Minister and was employed as a high school teacher with the Merl Grove High School – Ministry of Education Jamaica. He was also involved with the Jamaica Youth for Christ and Family Life Ministries as radio presenter, counselor, camps and conference speaker, and facilitator at various training seminars and workshops.
On his return to Trinidad in 1998, he held the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs at the West Indies school of Theology (WIST) until 2000, while serving as senior minister of the Global Missions Centre, El Dorado (formerly El Dorado Pentecostal Church), and 1998-2006.
On May 28, 2005 Don completed a second Master’s program (High Honors), the Masters in Counseling, with the Caribbean Nazarene College (CNC). Prior to and upon his graduation from CNC, he served with Dr. Dianne Douglas & Associates as a family therapist/psychologist, until December 2005.
He founded the Family Care Agency in 2007, which he currently serves as Director/Family Therapist, in addition to his current pastoral responsibilities as Senior Pastor of the Faith, Hope & Love Centre.
Don Hamilton formerly served as a part time lecturer in Psychology and as one of the school counselors at UWI Roytec. He also lectures at the Caribbean Nazarene College, and served at the West Indies School of Theology. In October, 2017 Don was elected as the new National Bishop of PAWI, Trinidad & Tobago for the new term beginning January 2018-2019.
